Renzo Piano’s projects

The Emilio e Annabianca Vedova Foundation presents “Renzo Piano. Water Projects”, an explorative exhibit on the works of architect Renzo Piano in relation to the element of water. The display, chaired by Alfredo Bianchini and curated by Fabrizio Gazzarri, collects sixteen projects, chosen by Renzo Piano himself.

Originally opened on May 23, 2018  at the Sale Docks (Zattere 266) following the ten-year anniversary of the renovations conducted in 2008 on a project by Renzo Piano, not long after the departure of longtime friend Emilio, the exhibition offers visitors the chance to join a multimedia journey among the works of the architect. The setup, realized by Studio Azzurro, introduces eight slim screens in the very halls that once hosted Emilio Vedova’s paintings.

The exposition itinerary starts with the project realized for the Prometeo (by composer Luigi Nono) within the church of San Lorenzo in Venice in 1984. Emilio Vedova collaborated with Renzo Piano on this project, by taking care of the lighting aspects and the use of space. From there, the exposition touches other thematically-linked places, such as Athens, Oslo, London, Genua, Paris and New York, then once again in Venice with the Vedova Foundation.
